Dear Friends and Family,

Thank you for your interest in supporting our efforts to bring musical, dramatic, and dance appreciation and skills to our children through the Galveston Homeschool Performing Arts Co-op. Our nonprofit program provides area home-educated students with an opportunity to learn performing arts skills they can use to enrich all of our lives for many years to come.

Due to the damage inflicted by Ike, co-op classes had to be cancelled during the Fall 2008 semester, and theater classes were cancelled both semesters. We hope to resume all of our classes in the Fall 2009 semester.

The music program includes weekly formal lessons in music theory, four choirs, sectional instrumental classes (strings, rhythm band, woodwinds, brass, recorders, and percussion) and three bands. The dance/drama program includes junior and senior levels as well as a creative movement class for 4-6 year olds. Classes are led by both experienced volunteers and paid instructors. Each participating family must volunteer one parent to instruct or assist in operations.

As we approach our seventh year, we will need basic supplies such as music and instruments, operating funds, as well as teachers and assistants. We would appreciate your support through sponsorship. The advantages of sponsorship for your business or family are as follows:

  • Prominent donor recognition displayed at the end-of-year concert
  • Listing of your generous support in our concert programs
  • Invitation to attend each public performance
  • A feeling of goodwill in helping young people excel

To make it easy for you to support this endeavor, we have designated six sponsorship levels, as shown in our sponsorship form. Please consider becoming a supporting partner in what will be a great learning experience for many children. We welcome both one-time and periodic gifts. We are a nonprofit organization, so your contributions are tax deductible.

Thank you!
